ABOUT US
State of Sound is a student organization and competitive marching percussion ensemble on the campus of San Diego State University. State of Sound is an extension of the marching percussion course offered at SDSU allowing its members the opportunity to receive college credit for their participation. Our students are also provided various opportunities to receive community service hours through their mentorship work with kindergarten - 12th grade students in San Diego and beyond, developing young leaders in the areas of academics, life, and music.

State of Sound exists as ambassadors of pageantry arts for San Diego State University to heighten the perspective of performing arts, culture, pride, and musical excellence in San Diego County and our many partnering communities around the world.
OUR LEADERS
SOS is a diverse, co-ed organization on the campus of San Diego State University. Our membership is made up of students from various academic disciplines. Our organization works daily to foster these personal and intellectual relationships within the world of performing arts for the betterment and optimum growth of each student member.
OUR COMMUNITY
We are members of the international performing arts community spanning centuries consisting of those invested in the values and intricacies of the performing arts. We proudly represent San Diego, California, the second largest city in the most populated state in America known for its tremendous weather and arts community heard, seen, and modeled around the world.
The San Diego State University Marching Aztecs Drumline is a segment of The Marching Aztecs - one of the premiere university marching bands in the west. Members of the fall drumline have recently performed at the 2017 Cal State Games Opening Ceremonies, 2016 MLB All Star Game, and a host of other regional and internationally recognized events. This unique and elite group of students has been featured in television commercials, feature films, and various print publications over its 71 years of existence
